About Diabetes Saathi

We explain diabetes the way a good doctor would if they had the time: clearly, honestly and with India in mind. Saathi means companion.

Who we are

Diabetes Saathi is an independent health blog. We bring together specialist doctors, medical writers and people living with diabetes. We are an information service: we do not diagnose, prescribe or sell medicines.

Our writers

Dr Prisha Shah, BAMS

Dr Prisha Shah holds a BAMS degree from Gujarat Ayurved University (J. S. Ayurvedic Mahavidyalaya, Nadiad, 2025) and is provisionally registered with the Gujarat Council of Ayurvedic & Unani Systems of Medicine (provisional registration no. 11126, issued for her internship period). She writes evidence-based explainers.

How we write

  1. Evidence first. Writers base every medical claim on Indian guidelines, the ADA Standards of Care, WHO guidance or peer-reviewed studies, and link to them.
  2. Editing for clarity. Editors remove jargon and check the page answers real questions.
  3. Regular updates. Each page shows when it was last updated, and we update pages when guidelines change.

Editorial policy

  • No cure claims. We never say a food, product or therapy cures diabetes.
  • No dosing advice. We explain what medicines do, but never tell readers how much to take or when to change a dose.
  • Independence. Writers do not use the site to promote their practice. Any conflicts of interest are disclosed on the page.
  • Advertising. Any sponsored content is clearly labelled. We do not accept ads for supplements or unproven remedies.
  • Patient stories. Shared only with written consent, with identifying details removed, and checked by our editors. Stories describe experience, not advice.
  • Use of AI tools. Writers may use AI tools for drafting help. A named writer is responsible for every published fact.
  • Corrections. We correct mistakes promptly and note significant changes on the page.

We cannot give personal medical advice. In an emergency, call 112.
